Mark LoDuca Sr. Bio
Mark has been playing professionally since the age of 13 years old, playing both Hammond organ and piano. Over the years, he has worked with many bands and is proficient in several genres of music. Since 1996, he has worked strictly as a jazz and blues artist, which has always been his first love. Mark can be seen at many jazz and blues clubs in the Detroit area, still playing the piano, electric keyboards, Hammond organ and singing as well.
Mark has worked with such great artists as Bobby Murray, guitarist from Etta James, Chicago Pete, the legendary guitarist/vocalistrer Jonnie Basset, Thornetta Davis as well as national artist Eliza Neils.. Mark can be heard on over 150 recordings, mostly as a studio musician. He released his own CD in 2015. It was nominated in 2016 for the following categories; Best Jazz Album, Outstanding Jazz Composer, and Best Jazz Musician. The album “Conflictionology” can be heard on jazz radio stations both domestic and internationally.
Mark is currently working primarily with The C Notes Trio/Quartet.
The “C” Notes: This is a classic jazz trio/quartet playing great jazz standards as well as the progressive funk/jazz of the 70s and early 80s. It features Mark at the piano/keyboards and vocals, his longtime collaborator, Robert Conner on acoustic and electric bass. Julian VanSlyke or David Marcaccio on drums. and our recent addition, guitar master Jerome Clark on guitar, when preforming as a quartet.
